Diesel

Diesel

Meet Diesel! This handsome 7 year old Yorshire terrier joined the New Hope family as an owner surrender – something was medically, very seriously wrong with this little man. He was very underweight and seemed to be experiencing difficulty eating. After many tests at the Veterinary Medical Centre at the University of Saskatchewan it was determined that he has a problem with cranial nerves 9 and 10, resulting in a lack of control of his tongue. Unfortunately this dysfunction of his nerves and his tongue is permanent. To enable Diesel to eat, he was given a permanent feeding tube which allows his caregiver to feed him.

Since receiving his feeding tube, Diesel has gained weight and with that energy and a new lease on life! Diesel is a really sweet, laid back little dude! His favourite time is cuddling and sleeping on foster dad’s belly! He is happiest being carried acound when his foster mom does her work. His foster mom calls him a litle dare devil because he likes to jump! Diesel is looking for a home to call his own to complete his story. If you can’t adopt this little fellow you could make a donation to help cover the cost of this surgery and the vet bills we incurred so that we can help others like Diesel. Any donation would be greatly appreciated!

Update:  This sweet little guy has been adopted!!  We will miss your sweet little face Diesel and we are so happy for you!
