Foxy

Foxy

Foxy, a sweet and timid 3 year old shepherd mix was rescued this winter as a stray dog from rural Saskatchewan. Foxy was hit by a vehicle, this brave and strong girl endured extreme pain and disability until a kind person rescued her and brought her to a veterinarian for care. Foxy was surrendered to New Hope Dog Rescue for further treatment, rehabilitation and to eventually find her a loving forever home. She is currently in foster care, recovering from her injuries.

It was found that she had multiple fractures in her pelvis and left hind limb. The fractures were stabilized but unfortunately she lost 2 of her toes that were too badly injured to save.We are saddened that conservative treatments of Foxy‘s injuries have not returned her to an acceptable level of function and comfort. The bones in her left hind leg are misaligned and she suffers from non-union of a fracture in her foot. This causes her to weight bear abnormally resulting in deep and painful pressure sores on her foot and pads.

Foxy required complex and expensive surgery to correct these injuries and to give her a chance at a life free from pain. And this sweet girl deserves it. Please consider making a donation to New Hope Dog Rescue to help cover the costs of Foxy‘s treatments. This sweet girl has so much love to give and New Hope Dog Rescue is committed to giving her the second chance at a life she deserves. Help us by making a donation today!

Update August 2018 great news, Foxy has found her forever home.
